Orth began making artwork full time in Chicago in the late 80s and quickly began showing and selling--from dive bars, trunk shows and cabarets to small galleries, big downtown galleries and finally art centers and museums.

Working in a wide variety of media, from massive installations to watercolors, canes, oil paintings and sculptures, his work has been shown at the American Visionary Art Museum, The Terra Museum of American Art, in many solo and group shows, and is in the Hemphill Collection among many others.
